I
can’t tell you how many half-finished stories I have. They can’t be called
books because, well, they’re not. Until I write “the end” at the end of the
story, I can only call it a work in progress, not a book.
I’m
a procrastinator. It’s something I excel at! So I’m great at starting things,
but not always finishing. It’s a good thing I have friends who are willing to
harass me until I surrender!
Writers,
do you have problems finishing your first draft too? Do you have any methods
you use to get to “the end”?
When I finally learned to quit fiddling with the beginning so much that was when I finally started finishing my wips. It took me a while though...
ReplyDeleteI've found different techniques. Depending on where the inspiration for my story took place, I'll start there. One time I ended up starting from the middle, the juicy part, and writing until the end, then going back to add slush to the beginning
